April: A Monthly Recap

Hi there!

Well, first let me say, welcome to my first monthly recap. So happy that you stopped by. I will say that it has done nothing but rain for most of this month. I am waiting until warmer weather and summer. I have so many fun and exciting activities planned for the upcoming months, but right now we are focusing on April.

As you know, my fiancé and I took a road trip up to Canada over the Easter holiday. We spent a few days in Niagara Falls, and one day in Toronto. And let me tell you, when I say it rained, I mean it rained, it downpoured, damn near every day. We only had, really one good weather day while we were up there.

It was quite the journey, quite the adventure…not to mention, it was my fiancés first trip abroad. Canada is a nice easy place to go, to visit. It’s not a terribly long drive, six hours to say the least, but the drive can get rather tiring. It can feel so draining. On the way up, we did stop quite a bit. We stopped to use the restroom, to grab snacks, to give our legs a rest. Six/6.5 hours is a ways to go to do it all in one sitting.

My better half seemed to really enjoy the trip. We showed them our passports right at the border and we were in. It was great. He, well, we both were just blown away by the falls and their breath taking views. We spent so much time walking around, exploring.

Then, we took a day trip out to Toronto. Toronto makes a nice day trip. It’s about an hour and a half drive from Niagara Falls. We spent sometime at Ripley’s Aquarium, which was massive. I highly recommend it. However, I could not have imagined that the aquarium would be as packed as it was. Although, keep in mind that it was raining the entire time that we were there, so it was a nice indoor activity.

After that, my fiancé allowed me to conquer one of my greatest fear, that of heights, by navigating around the CN tower on the CN Edgewalk. You can read more about that here. I promise, it is not as scary as I am probably making it look in the videos. I do not have enough positive things to say about the experience. The views were breath taking, the staff and crew were so friendly and well trained and they have safety as your number one priority. They really take care of you and make you feel comfortable up there. I truly say that if you go to Toronto, if just for a day and can only do one thing, please do the Edgewalk, if you dare. Let me know your thoughts and what you think.

And then, on our last day, we spent walking around Niagara some more, exploring the very small casinos (way smaller than we are used to) and walking around the Clifton district. And let me tell you there is so much to do in the Clifton area, my goodness. Bottom line is, we had a great time and turns out that we are absolutely great travel companions.

And that about sums up the April: Monthly Recap.
