The Market Grille: A Restaurant Review

Hello there! For those of you who know me and know me well, you know that I am a major foodie, all these restaurant reviews and cooking class reviews should come as no surprise. A few days ago, a friend of mine and I headed to the Market Grille in Manchester CT to enjoy some sun and some food on the patio. We must have started a trend. There was not a single person sitting outside on the patio. And as soon as we began sitting out there, slowly but surely people began sitting outside–realizing that this was one of the few nice days that we had had in a while and that they should take advantage of it. I’ll focus on the food here, because the service was mediocre at best.

Below are some pictures of the food that I ordered, beginning with the blue cheese garlic bread and ending with the fra diavolo chicken.

The food was absolutely wonderful and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The garlic bread, with that blue cheese, that was the stuff of dreams. You don’t need met to tell you. Just look at that picture and how golden it is and how well toasted it is. It was truly everything. Not to mention it came with a lovely dipping sauce. I was truly happy at that.

As for the duck. So good. I know it was fra diavolo so there was a little bit of a kick. But the duck was so juicy and moist and cook to perfection. 4 stars.

The only issue that I had with the restaurant was that the bread that we got to start, not good. Not burnt but hard as rock. I did not eat my bread to start. That part was truly disappointing. It was not even like toast. It was just a mess. Other than that, the restaurant is definitely worth visiting at least once. Very modern American Cuisine that will get your taste buds soaring.
